The 25th Laureus World Sports Awards ceremony held in Madrid on Monday night was a night to remember, as two of the world’s most exceptional athletes, Jude Bellingham and Novak Djokovic, took home top honors.

Jude Bellingham, the 20-year-old English midfielder, was awarded the Laureus World Sports Breakthrough of the Year prize for his phenomenal season with Real Madrid and England. His impressive goal tally of 21 goals and starring role in Sunday’s El Clasico victory over Barcelona cemented his position as one of the most exciting young players in the world.
Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic made history by becoming the first person to win the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award for a record-equalling fifth time. His incredible year saw him win the Australian Open, French Open, and US Open, taking his grand slam men’s singles titles to a record 24.
Djokovic expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am incredibly honored to have won my fifth Laureus World Sportsman of the Year award. I think back to 2012, when I won it for the first time as a 24-year-old. I am very proud to be here 12 years later, reflecting on a year that brought me and my fans a lot of excitement and success.”
