Games demand lots of food
Miércoles, marzo 24th, 2010La Vianda, the company responsible for providing the meals to athletes and delegations in Medellin for the South American Games, runs quite a marathon everyday to fill the tall order. More than 3.000 people need breakfast, lunch and dinner each day, meaning this Barranquilla-based company must prepare a total of 10.500 meals a day in three shifts. For each day of the games 100 tons of meat, including beef, chicken, pork and fish, are used. In addition, the athletes consume 30.000 pounds of rice, 30.000 bags of milk and 300.000 yoghurt.
