At the Vizcaya Hacienda, in Fredonia, the variety of crops remains a way to maintain profitability.
Greenhouse tomatoes, rare in the Southwestern region, avocado and oneco mandarin are the main products, but chili peppers, lulo and gherkin are also grown.
12 local workers are employed on the farm and when the time comes to harvest more are hired, especially women, to whom the opportunity to obtain some extra income is given. Vizcaya is a model of productivity and proves that land well managed is a prosperous business and food source.
