Civil Jurisdiction hopes to complete at least 300.000 processes in 2009 and keep working towards clearing out the Judicial System in the country. Annually citizens bring nearly 1’800.000 cases to the courts between lawsuits and appeals, a load nearly impossible to keep up with.

Hernando Torres Corredor, magistrate of the Superior Judicature Council, said special measures will also be applied to assist with lightening the load such as the Law of Withdrawal and strengthening the Oral Justice System.
