Legislators scramble to approve bills before end of term

Less than two weeks before the end of this legislative period, there are at least 40 bills and legislative acts awaiting approval on the agenda. The goal in the House of Representatives is to do as much as possible this week so representatives can focus on budget transfers for coffee growers’ subsidies and debating the health reform next week.

Legislators are not, however, committing to passing the health reform and admitted that there will be some bills left out such as the modernization of Congress.

Alberteacher wonders: Let’s guess that none of these 40 pending bills awaiting approval are petitions to raise politicians salaries…they “work” 40% of their time and for that ‘effort’ they get paid 40 minimum salaries (or more) while the rest of the working class earns less than one minimum salary. That’s the kind of unjust (violating principles of justice or fairness….unfair…dishonesty) that empowers farc and other thugs…if there’s no ‘justice for all’…there won’t be peace for all…Keep that in mind you all fat cats who never have enough…the more they have…the more they want. People of Colombia, wake up!…our country could be one heck of a paradise if more citizens enjoy better opportunities….I think so. what about the rest of the world?
