Farc releases two kidnapped police officers
Two police officers kidnapped by Farc on January 26th were handed over today to a humanitarian commission made up of members of the International Red Cross and Colombians for Peace in the village of La Cilia, a rural area in northern Cauca.
President Juan Manuel Santos addressed the country via Twitter and said he spoke to the two officers personally after the release.

The two police officers released by Farc were wearing civilian clothing and appeared to be in good health.
The families of Cristian Yate and Victor González were anxiously waiting for them at the Catam military airport in Bogotá and have special celebrations planned in their hometowns; Líbano, Tolima for the Yate family and Anserma, Caldas for the Gonzalez family.
The release had originally been scheduled for Thursday but Farc chose to postpone it due to heavy media presence, or so it claimed.
