The paving of El Reversadero, the main access to the escalators in Comuna 13, is an event worth celebrating as all residents are well aware of. They threw a block party when most of the work was completed last month and even danced on the new pavement, the only thing missing were the sidewalks, which are finally done.

The escalators are one of the reasons Medellín was nominated as one of the world’s most innovative cities by the Urban Land Institute. Final details like some landscaping and a handrail will be installed by January 26^th.
