The directors of Atlético Nacional confirmed that Santiago ‘Sachi’ Escobar is no longer the soccer team’s head coach. Juan Carlos de la Cuesta, president of the athletic club, said the reason for ‘Sachi’s’ dismissal is solely the team’s poor perfomance on the field. He also confirmed that the team and the coach himself were informed of the decision before it went public.

Names like Leonel Alvarez and Juan Carlos Osorio have been mentioned as possible replacements, among others de la Cuesta would not reveal, but Norberto Peluffo will take over in the interim.
