Miércoles, julio 4th, 2012

Colombian exporters are looking towards Europe now that a commercial agreement was signed with the European Union on June 26th, in addition to one already in effect with Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

According to Proexport, which is holding informational chats around the country to educate business owners on what is needed to sell to Europe, the country has what it takes to make it into the 27 countries that make up the Union. Many options are in the agro-industrial sector with products like fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers and coffee derivate, which have great potential; other hopefuls are textile companies and clothing exporters.

The thought of reaching destinations like Titumate, Capurganá and Sapzurro inChocó; San Blas in Panamá and Necoclí in Antioquia on a comfortable, safe, air-conditioned catamaran gives the experience a whole new appeal. A group of local business executives spent ten years developing the concept and were finally able to get it going.

“We wanted to reinvent destinations like Capurganá in hopes of helping it blossom,” one of them explained, because tourists are currently limited to one ADA flight each day or taking a panga. The ‘Karibes’ holds 60 people and up to 20 on the deck, it will begin operating on July 15th.
